Water Breath

Water Breath

Water Breath is a meditation of conscious breathing while floating in the water. Due to the complete freedom of motion in the water, the breathing motions move with the rest of the body in unison. It creates a coordinated energy wave that integrates and harmonizes the mind-body functions. Typical experiences include relaxation, nurturing, emotional release, deep meditative states, intuitive awareness and rejuvenation.

Mind-Body Integration

The water allows the entire body to move effortlessly with the breathing motions. Letting this coordinated wave happen naturally enhances the harmony between the mind, breath, internal organs, blood flow, and metabolism.

Typical experiences include peaceful well-being and rejuvenation during the practice itself, followed by increased mental clarity and reduced stress. Long-term benefits include healthier breathing habits and increased neuro-somatic integration.

Deep Meditation

Being floated and supported in body-temperature water induces womb-like nurturing and soothing relaxation. The deep meditative states bring awareness to subtle feelings and memories, and open doorways to the subconscious mind.

The experience often provides refreshing insights and awakening personal introspection that last beyond the practice. This inspires a sense of connection to inner wisdom, and enhances trust in intuitive guidance on a daily basis.

Water Breath was developed by LiOr Jacob at Passion University, where he conducted rebirthing sessions in body-temperature water. Students reported results that were even deeper than land-based rebirthing. On land, the body holds itself up against gravity. In Water Breath, the muscles, joints, and internal organs relax due to the water’s and the helper’s support. The relieved pressure and the warmth of the water improve blood flow and lymphatic circulation. The synchronized breaths induce waves that harmonize the body systems. Students experienced significant increase in both neuromuscular and neurorespiratory integration.

Breathwork

Water Breath implements the priniciples of Passion Breath. When the breather is in Space-Breath, the body is in relaxed stillness supported by the helper, creating a deep meditative state. When the breather is in Flow-Breath, the body waves freely in the water, allowing for a natural and gradual opening of energy channels. When the breather is in Rapture-Breath, the body ripples in refined vibrations, allowing for powerful energies to move through the spine and the entire body. The fluid medium enables the breather to naturally move between physical, mental, and emotional states.

Personal Growth

Water Breath is based on breathwork, which accesses more refined levels than aquatic bodywork. Water Breath’s other uniqueness is that the helper’s main role is to be a supporting and nurturing container to the breather’s journey. The breather is the one who is actively breathing, stretching, and dancing effortlessly in the water. In other aquatic modalities the breather is passive, and the practitioner actively does the bodywork. Water Breath thus helps students to develop their own independent mechanisms of self-healing, encourages pure expression of their authentic passion, and connects them with their inner wisdom.

Physiological and Psychological Integration

The physiological changes and mental relaxation induces a liberating experience that also helps to go beyond preconceived limitations and constrictions. It invokes high states of exhilaration and long-lasting sense of well-being. Water Breath also allows for natural release of emotions. The caring presence and compassionate touch of the helper gives the breather a nurturing container to heal and integrate these natural expressions. Remembering the Water Breath experience helps to choose supportive new patterns in place of unwanted mental and emotional habits.

Heart-felt nurturing, like returning to the womb. Aquatic healing has been described by many as the most nurturing form of healing.
